Goals
TFETP was launched by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to recruit foreign English teachers and teaching assistants to create more opportunities for Taiwanese students to learn English in schools nationwide.
The missions are as follows:
To improve the English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills of Elementary (Grades 3-6) and Junior High students (Grades 7-9) in Taiwan.
To develop innovative English curriculum and effective teaching methods through collaboration between foreign English teachers, foreign English teaching assistants, and Taiwanese teachers.
To enhance the multicultural competence of foreign English teachers, foreign English teaching assistants, and local residents.
Job Description
Foreign English Teacher: Foreign English Teachers are to cooperate with Taiwanese teachers to enhance the quality of English curriculum, teaching, and assessment in a way to strengthen English professional standards, provide students with positive and immersive English learning environment, and strengthen the student’s overall English abilities. Work hours are 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Conduct co-teaching with Taiwanese teachers up to 20 periods a week.
Foreign English Teaching Assistant: Foreign English teaching assistants work under the guidance of Taiwanese teachers to create a positive, diverse, and immersive English learning environment that encourages proactive English learning among students, thus raising overall English ability. Service hours are 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. Assist Taiwanese teachers during class up to 20 periods a week.

Remuneration and Other Benefits
Foreign English Teacher: Salary (bachelor's degree: NT$ 65,230~85,380; master's degree: NT$ 72,760~94,980; doctoral degree: NT$ 75,950~100,010), flight reimbursement, housing rental reimbursement, performance bonus, overtime pay, national health insurance and work accident insurance/labor insurance.
Foreign English Teaching Assistant: Monthly salary NT$ 48,000, flight reimbursement, housing rental reimbursement, reimbursement for taking certificate class, transportation reimbursement, national health insurance and work accident insurance/labor insurance.
